AFP Minnesota Committees

Join a Committee!

AFP-MN is an organization led by fundraisers, for fundraisers. We rely on our community of fundraising practitioners to guide our chapter’s work each year and to help fulfill AFP-MN’s mission to convene fundraisers to create opportunities for learning and career advancement and to encourage an environment where everyone engaged in fundraising feels a sense of belonging and mutual support.

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Committee
AFP-MN priorities representing fundraisers of all backgrounds, but particularly those who have been historically underrepresented. Our IDEA committee hosts our IDEA Fellows program, BIPOC Table Talks, the annual BIPOC Meet The Funders event, and ensures our chapter remains a leader in IDEA work in fundraising.

Education Committee
The Education committee plans and executes chapter programming that is relevant, engaging, and accessible. Working closely with Engagement and Resource Development, this committee ensures that members of AFP-MN and beyond can look to our chapter for meaningful and thought-provoking education that helps move our sector forward.

Engagement Committee
The most important part of AFP-MN is our members. The Engagement committee is here to ensure that members feel welcomed in our community, are aware of the benefits AFP-MN and AFP Global membership offers them, and help them strengthen their professional network. This committee also oversees the mentorship program for AFP-MN.

National Philanthropy Day Committee
The National Philanthropy Day committee is responsible for planning and executing the annual celebration of National Philanthropy Day in Minnesota, including honoree selection and the awards ceremony.

Public Policy Committee
The Public Policy committee is responsible for informing AFP-MN members of important public policy issues related to philanthropy and fundraising while also educating and encouraging members to get involved and advocate on philanthropy related public policy issues at the local, state and federal levels.

Resource Development Committee
In order to offer robust programming and benefits to AFP-members and our fundraising community at large, our Resource Development committee is responsible for helping to cultivate, solicit and steward individuals, corporations, and nonprofits interested in supporting the ongoing work and strategic goals of AFP-MN.

Directorship Committee
As a volunteer-led organization, AFP-MN relies on great people to lead our work! The Directorship committee ensures an equitable and transparent process for board recruitment and leadership succession planning for AFP-MN to ensure we’re representing the experiences and diversity of the people who make up our sector.
