Your skills in writing, editing, content development, planning, project management (and even Facebook!) can help us build awareness, participation and membership for chapter and international initiatives. This committee works in tandem with both the Education and Membership committees, and supports the work of AFP International’s Public Affairs Department.
Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) CommitteeThe IDEA committee is responsible for working with all the AFP-MN Chapter committees to successfully integrate a culture of diversity and inclusion into every aspect of the AFP-MN Chapter. The chapter seeks to achieve a broad representation of experiences, perspectives, and cultures to ensure that the best possible thinking, ideas, opportunities, and solutions are considered. We strive to intentionally create a respectful and welcoming environment that is open to all, and appreciate the unique contributions of every member of our community.
Education CommitteeThe Education committee plans and executes monthly chapter programs, as well as special sessions throughout the year. The committee works with the Membership and Communications committees to publicize programs and evaluate member satisfaction with program offerings.
Membership CommitteeThe Membership committee is responsible for preparing and executing a membership recruitment and retention plan. The committee provides orientation for new members, administrates chapter scholarships and works to promote membership diversity. This committee works closely with the Education and Communication committees.
Philanthropy Day CommitteeThe Philanthropy Day committee is responsible for planning and executing the annual celebration of National Philanthropy Day in Minnesota, including all aspects from the awards luncheon to the program offerings.
Public Policy CommitteeThe AFP-MN Chapter, through its 2020 strategic framework, is committed to being a trusted expert on charitable public policy decisions in Minnesota. The Public Policy committee is responsible for informing AFP-MN members of important public policy issues related to philanthropy and fundraising while also educating and encouraging members to get involved and advocate on philanthropy related public policy issues at the local, state and federal levels. On behalf of the AFP-MN Chapter, the Public Policy committee also strives to work with key partners and coalitions to help coordinate local government relations programs that educate legislators on the importance of the nonprofit sector and the impact their proposals may have.
Resource Development CommitteeResource Development committee members are responsible for helping to cultivate, solicit and steward individuals, corporations and nonprofits interested in supporting the ongoing work and strategic goals of AFP-MN.
Directorship CommitteeThe Directorship committee ensures an equitable and transparent process for board recruitment and leadership succession planning for AFP-MN.
