DEPARTMENT: Development
REPORTS TO: Chief Philanthropy Officer
SUPERVISES: Volunteers
HOURS: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday to Friday; evenings and weekends as needed

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mid-MGO works closely with the Major Gifts, Direct Marketing (DM) and Development Operations teams to develop and implement strategies for donor relationship management (identify, manage, nurture, upgrade) to meet short and long-term revenue goals of the department. The primary objective of the Mid-MGO is to build strong relationships built on a firm understanding of donors’ interests, passions and values with goals to reduce donor attrition and increase revenue per donor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES — External focus.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT AND SOLICITATION (65%)
• Create, integrate and implement short, intermediate and long-term individual strategies of $3k+ individual donors.
• Act as primary relationship manager with a caseload and prospects of mid-level donors to reach or exceed annual funding goals.
• Play lead role in soliciting and closing individual gifts by managing relationship process for individual donors including prospect solicitation, and briefings with primary relationship managers.
• Cultivate and expand current giving through planned gifts and donor advised fund donors.
• Act as officer for non-managed monthly donors through creation and implementation of stewardship retention and cultivation plans for this type of donor.

CULTIVATION AND STEWARDSHIP (25%)
• Plan and implement tiered mid-major donor funding campaigns, events and activities (volunteer experiences, tours, receptions, etc.), working closely with DM team.
• Execute materials, including briefing memos, proposals and stewardship materials.
• Coordinate and supervise volunteers in stewardship activities. Ensure that these valuable supporters have thorough training, and ongoing direction and feedback, so that their time with SHH is productive and their experiences positive.

MONITORING AND REPORTING (10%)
• Monitor weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activity to achieve revenue goals.
• Assist with review and verification of donor recognition and suppression lists.
• Track and report relationship management activity using constituent relationship management system including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospective and current individual donors.
• Participate in regular Development staff and organization-wide meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 2+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience required
• Demonstrated ability to meet financial goals
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively
• Demonstrated ability to persuade others
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision
• Strong writing, oral and presentation communication skills
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
• Experience with constituent relationship management system
• Attention to detail and strong project management skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Professional attitude and appearance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Ability to travel – up to 25% of metro travel
• Ability to use technology to meet needs of position.
