Grant Manager

– Research, write, and submit grant proposals, budgets, and accompanying materials to a variety of funding sources including government, corporate, private, and community funders.
– Collaborate with program staff, directors, and members of leadership on all components of the grant process and incorporate their feedback.
– Lead the grant process including strategy and ideation, proposal writing and submission, site visits and follow-up activities, and reporting.
– Collaborate with the accounting team, particularly the grant accountant, on grant budgets and reports.
– Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process.
– Create and maintain the annual grants calendar, based on organizational priorities, and keep all relevant parties informed of upcoming deadlines.
– Maintain all data and appropriate files, both paper and digital, pertaining to grants and other related issues.
– Be proactive in researching prospective funders and stay current on funding opportunities that may be applicable to Rise’s work.
– Develop and steward relationships with funders and communicate effectively with them to clarify policies, procedures, requirements and troubleshoot issues.
– Review grant contracts and ensure compliance with grant requirements in collaboration with quality assurance, accounting, and program departments.
– Support other advancement department initiatives as a member of the team, including working at special events and assisting with written communications.

– Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, technical or creative writing, English, journalism, communications, or any other related field.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– At least three years’ experience with grant writing and reporting including experience with government, corporate, and private foundation grants with a history of success.
– Knowledge of the Minnesota philanthropic community and government funding sources, preferred.
– High degree of comfort with technology and digital tools.
– Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results in an environment with competing priorities.
– Goal-oriented, results-driven, independent, and detail-oriented
– Compliance with DHS background check
