Partnering With Your Executive Director

March 19 | 8:00 am - 9:30 am

What a Successful Partnership Takes & How to Raise More Money Together

One of the most important working relationships for a professional fundraiser is that with the chief executive officer. Fundraisers rely on the strategic leadership, vision, messaging and guidance of the CEO to fund raise effectively. Likewise, the CEO depends on their chief development officer to build relationships with key stakeholders and understand how and when to leverage the CEO. Fundraisers manage direct communication lines to major donors, prospective board members, foundation leaders, corporate partners and volunteers, collecting important information that is vital for a CEO to know and understand.

This interactive workshop, led by a chief advancement officer and chief executive officer, will explore key facets of that relationship and engage participants in conversations about realistic expectations from those holding these positions.

We have invited the Rev. Dr. Robin Steinke, President of Luther Seminary, and Heidi Droegemueller, CFRE, VP of Seminary Relations and AFP Master Trainer, to share their experiences working together in the midst of a $115 million campaign. Attendees are encouraged to invite their Executive Director.

About the Presenters:

Heidi Droegemueller, CFRE, has more than 20 years of experience in professional fundraising. During this time, she has helped raise over $250 million for the arts, healthcare and higher education. A longtime member and volunteer for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Heidi served of the Boards of the Greater Arizona and Minnesota Chapters, and is currently a Board Member of the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy. She chaired National Philanthropy Day celebrations for both chapters and served as President of the Minnesota Chapter in 2011. Heidi is Vice President of Seminary Relations for Luther Seminary and Executive Director of the Luther Seminary Foundation.
