Adam WilhelmAdam Wilhelm, Senior Consultant, Campbell & Company

A hands-on collaborator, Adam Wilhelm engages organizational leadership and volunteers at the strategic level, and translates their visions into implementable activities for development staff. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated consummate skill in a variety of areas, including:

  • Helping clients secure major gifts in support of their missions
  • Increasing efficiencies across development operations
  • Fostering board members’ understanding of their role in fundraising
  • Helping articulate the value of philanthropy to an organization’s work
  • Developing donor engagement strategies that link organizations’ missions to individuals’ interests

Adam joined Campbell & Company from the Lutheran School of Theology (Chicago) where he served as a major gift officer during Equipping the Saints for Ministry, a $56 million comprehensive campaign that exceeded its goal. During the campaign, he cultivated and solicited donors for annual, capital and planned gifts at all levels.

Prior this role, Adam served as the Director of Advancement Services, heading the annual fund and overseeing all aspects of the School’s fundraising operations including data systems and prospect research and management. He established an annual fund strategy that resulted in a 30 percent increase in giving over three years, successfully developed and implemented the School’s first moves management program and substantially enhanced donor focused communications.

Adam holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College with a double major in English and American Racial and Multi-Cultural Studies. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Association for Lutheran Development Executives (ALDE) and serves as a mentor for the Chicago chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

Jeremy Wells photoJeremy R. Wells

Jeremy R. Wells currently serves as Vice President of Philanthropic Services at Minnesota Philanthropy Partners in Saint Paul, MN. In this role, he leads all philanthropic efforts for the Saint Paul Foundation, the Minnesota Community Foundation, and works with various other affiliates of MN Partners.

Prior to coming to Minnesota Philanthropy Partners, Jeremy served as Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Augsburg College, Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and in various advancement-related roles at the University of Jamestown.

He received Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Jamestown in Psychology, Religion, and Philosophy and a Master’s Degree in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Jeremy also holds his Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification.

Jeremy currently serves as President of the Minnesota Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and serves as the Chapter President’s Council Representative on the International Board for AFP. He sits on the alumni board of the University of Jamestown as well as the board of the StepUP Program at Augsburg College. He also serves on the development committee of Ujamaa Place in Saint Paul.

Wells is a frequent regional and national speaker on a variety of advancement and fund development topics, including development planning, utilizing volunteers, donor engagement, and campaign strategy. He also serves on multiple nonprofit boards at the local, state, and national levels.

Tim BenzTim Benz

Tim Benz, CFRE, is Associate President of the Minnesota Independent School Forum (MISF) which strengthens Minnesota’s K-12 independent schools by advancing positions of common interest with lawmakers, policymakers, and the general public; and providing member schools with resources, connections, education and expertise in critical disciplines. Tim will become President of MISF effective July 1, 2014. Tim has served in leadership roles with College of Saint Benedict, Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis and Cretin-Derham Hall. Tim brings a focus on best practices and fostering a culture of philanthropy to his organizations. An active volunteer with AFP, Tim is a past president of the AFP Minnesota Chapter and currently serves on the finance and resource development committees. He is a board member of Hopkins Early Learning Center (HELC). Tim received a Bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of St. Thomas and has held the Certified Fundraising Executive designation since 2005.

 

Kim MotesKimberly Ferlaak Motes

Kimberly Ferlaak Motes is the vice president of Institutional Advancement at the College of Saint Benedict, a position she has held since January 2011. She is responsible for leading all aspects of fundraising including major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, advancement communications and advancement services. She also oversees alumnae relations, fine arts programming and the literary arts institute. Kimberly serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet, manages two trustee committees and oversees a division with 43 employees. Prior to College of Saint Benedict, Kimberly spent over 20 years in arts administration serving as managing director of Theater Latte Da and the executive director of the Cowles Center for Music and Dance in Minneapolis. Kimberly spent 13 years in Washington, DC as the director of development at Arena Stage and program manager at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

On July 21st, Kimberly will become the Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement at the University of St. Thomas where she will be responsible for development, alumni and constituent relations and university relations.

 

Randi YoderRandi Yoder 

Randi Yoder is the senior vice president and chief development officer for Minnesota Public Radio and American Public Media and oversees all major individual, planned and institutional giving.  Prior to joining the organization in March 2011, Randi was senior vice president of Donor Relations for the Greater Twin Cities United Way. Randi also served as president of Yoder Henley Development Resources, vice president of Institutional Advancement at St. Catherine University, and associate dean for External Affairs at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. In recognition of her work, Randi received the of the 2011 Outstanding Professional Fundraiser award from the Minnesota Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the 1995 Woman of Distinction award, sponsored by Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business Journal.  She received a bachelor’s degree in English from Western Michigan University and an MBA in international marketing and management from the American Graduate School of International Management. Randi serves on the advisory boards of the WomenVenture and Minneapolis Junior League; and the boards of trustees of EARTH University in Costa Rica and EARTH University Foundation.
