POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Regions Hospital Foundation, the Director of Major & Planned Gifts will build a strong and sustainable, donor-centered major gift program of gifts of $25,000 or more by providing best practice leadership to team of major and planned giving officers, as well as professional support staff. Responsibilities include leadership for Regions Foundation major gift team and mentorship for system gift officers, annual planning and goal-setting, and managing personal portfolio of 50 prospects. This position will lead efforts, such as capital and targeted campaigns, for engaging patients, families and the community in supporting Regions Hospital and the broader organization. In this role, the leader will work closely with the foundation vice president, board of directors, physicians and care teams, senior leaders and donors to position Regions as a top charitable cause in east metro.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Baccalaureate degree
Experience: Seven to ten years of demonstrated success in resource development field in a leadership position. Experience with seven-figure major gift solicitation, planned giving and comprehensive capital campaigns.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to select, train, supervise, inspire and lead a professional team of gift officers and support staff.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and garner support through major giving, planned giving and capital campaigns and engaging patients and families with the Foundation.
• Skilled in steps necessary to enhance development staff production and professional approach to fundraising.
• Demonstrated skill working within an increasingly complex environment at senior levels with strong capabilities in planning, organizing and managing.
• Strong interpersonal relationship building skills associated with successful development officers, which include outstanding writing and verbal communication skills, sound judgement, demonstrated initiative, appropriate professional appearance, positive attitude, personal integrity, confidence, political savvy and a personal style which will foster effective relationships with Board members, executives, physicians, donors, patrons, community leaders and others.
• Passion for improving the health and well-being of the community and knowledge of Regions Hospital and HealthPartners to enlist support of philanthropic efforts on the part of corporate and volunteer leadership.
• Familiarity with computer-based information systems.
• Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing charitable giving.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Advanced Degree
Experience: Experience in a large health care organization.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification a plus
