The Director of Institutional Funding and Community Partnerships is responsible for maintaining and developing strategic partnerships to support the mission of Catholic Charities and advance community impact.

This leader manages a team of grant and sponsorship seeking professionals and works with board members, executive leadership, program directors, volunteer organizers and other external affairs team members.

The Director is a highly visible and engaged representative of Catholic Charities in the community and will personally manage a portfolio of the organization’s most significant community partners.

Strategic Leadership
The Director is the strategy leader for institutional engagement including community partners, foundations, corporations, small and medium sized businesses, higher education institutions, and other important partner organizations. The Director advises the Executive Team on key funding relationships.

Funding Management
The Director supervises key revenue-generation functions, including public and private grant seeking and a significant sponsorship program. This role is a combination of strong management of program partnership, proposal production, solicitation, reporting, and external funder/partner engagement.

The Director actively pursues between $6 million and $8 million annually from private and public sources consistently managing engagement of other executive and program leadership to increase revenue.

Community Partnership Building

The Director manages and develops partnerships with other leading institutions in the Twin Cities to create mutual benefit for shared missions addressing issues of poverty, trauma and the advancement of justice and equity in the Twin Cities region.

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field and minimum of eight (8) years of non-profit fundraising experience

Strong background in nonprofit corporate and foundation relations, as well as extensive government grant/contract experience

High-level competency with Raiser’s Edge with strong computer skills in MS Office software and online government grant submission.

Experience with capital campaigns desired.

Supervisory experience required with diverse teams.

Public speaking experience mandatory with superior presentation skills.

Ability to work with diverse and/or low income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness required.
