JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Director of Individual Giving is a senior member of the Organizational Advancement department. Primary responsibilities are to lead individual giving efforts, solicit annual and leadership gifts and supervise database administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, implementation and tracking of a comprehensive multi-channel annual and leadership giving program for YWCA Minneapolis in support of its mission and goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leadership (15%)
Develop and implement in concert with the Director of Institutional Giving and CDO the strategy to achieve individual fund-raising goals including stretch goals.
Establish annual revenue goals and the strategies and metrics required to meet or exceed them.
Supervise the Database Specialist to ensure the performance and integrity of the donor database, gift acknowledgement process, department reporting and revenue reconciliation.
Provide weekly, monthly and yearly status reports for internal and external distribution.
In collaboration with the CDO, create and manage the Individual Giving expense budget and contributed revenue goals each fiscal year.
Assist as staff liaison with the Board of Directors Development Committee.

Individual Fundraising
Annual Campaign (50%)
Create the annual strategy and lead the day-to-day work plan for the annual giving program that will meet or exceed established fundraising goals and operational budgets.
Design and implement the strategy to improve acquisition, renewal and pledge fulfillment
Develop and oversee the multi-channel (mail, phone, email, social media) mass solicitation strategies to increase giving and participation.
With Marketing and Communications team, create all marketing materials, appeal letters, online solicitations, pledge reminders, acknowledgement letters, etc.

Major Gifts (35%)
Qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward leadership annual gifts of $1,000 and above through a personal portfolio of approximately 75 individuals.
Collaborate with Marketing team to develop effective collateral to use with donors
In collaboration with CDO, assign major gift portfolio to the CEO and CDO and provide support on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of those portfolios.
In collaboration with CDO, provide direction and assistance to build out YWCA Minneapolis’s planned giving program.

Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A disciplined, results-oriented, self-starter, demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Persuasive communications skills in writing, in-person and over the phone
Outstanding listening and analytical skills
Strong presentation skills with the ability to be knowledgeable and articulate in stating YWCA Minneapolis’ mission and vision and the case for support of its priorities.
Ability to appropriately manage confidential information
A creative, good-natured member of a team with demonstrated collaborative and pro-active manners.
Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree
Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible non-profit development experience.
A strong record of raising annual and major gifts, either as a professional fundraiser or from a combination of professional and volunteer fundraising activities
Proven success inspiring people and managing positive working relationships with boards, volunteers, and staff to meet organizational goals
Experience in developing donor-centric cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies
Demonstrated ability to engage and support volunteer leadership with their efforts in fundraising, consultation, and advocacy
Preferred:
Master’s degree or nationally recognized certification.
Raiser’s Edge software experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
Travel to various YWCA Minneapolis sites and donor locations.
