Development Manager

The Development Manager plays a key role in supporting fundraising efforts to secure funding essential to Bridge programs. This position is responsible for the implementation of comprehensive development and marketing programs that generate foundation, corporate and individual support and build greater community awareness of The Bridge. This person in this position will be expected to meet or exceed annual fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support the execution of the annual fundraising plan for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of private and corporate foundation funders
• Write and support grant proposals and accompanying materials in response to RFPs to be reviewed by the Associate Director
• Research and identify existing and prospective funders appropriate for the Bridge
• Maintain an ongoing grants calendar that includes renewable and potential funding sources
• Organization and maintenance of all data and appropriate files pertaining to grants and contracts

• Execute marketing and communications plans to ensure that the vision, image, brand and work of the Bridge is communicated effectively to current and prospective donors and the public
• Oversee electronic communications with Bridge supporters and the general public, including website, email marketing, Facebook, and Twitter
• Develop and execute annual report, agency brochure and other written marketing materials

• Provide supervision and support to the Development Team staff
• Assist in the supervision and coordination of volunteers

Special Events
• Support the planning and execution of annual fundraising event
• Strategize and secure event sponsorship’s

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in grant writing, donor stewardship, and special events (required)
• Experience working in a mission driven human services organization and/or nonprofit organization
• Knowledge of funding sources and community resources available to support work of the Bridge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with organization’s clients, donors and Bridge staff
• Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely and effective manner
• A self-starter who works independently and assumes responsibilities and initiatives with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to set and meet fundraising goals and to adapt strategies as needed to ensure success
• Must be friendly, positive and team oriented
• Must have valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record
