Annual Giving Manager

Job Purpose: You’re a people centric, goal oriented leader who supports and leads the team by caring personally and challenging professionally. You lead annual giving with a responsibility for ensuring ongoing growth of annual/operating support for Animal Humane Society.

What you will be doing:

Leadership—Lead the annual giving team. Own outcomes and hold yourself and your team accountable. Model the coaching approach to leadership and participate in first teams. Manage resources responsibly.

Strategy—Lead and execute annual giving plans with a goal of acquiring, retaining, and upgrading annual giving and event donors and attendees. Develop, direct, and oversee execution of integrated digital, and other multi-channel, fundraising and stewardship campaigns. Oversee the development and implementation of stewardship plans with specific strategies aimed at increasing lifetime value of a donor. Serve as fundraising strategy lead on events.

Communication—Listen, pay attention, and be a responsible steward of information.

Relationship Building—A cross-functional collaboration to ensure the success of solicitation, stewardship, and event communications and strategies. Collaborate with the team to advance donors through the donor continuum and to secure matches.

Support—Oversee the research, selection, and management of vendors for products and services required for annual giving and manage vendor relationships. Be a voice in the writing and editing of communications for multiple solicitation channels.

Culture—Foster an open and inclusive work environment by modeling AHS Behaviors and values, consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Maintain a safe work environment by following AHS protocols and policies. Work with AHS volunteers in a positive and effective way to advance the mission of AHS and facilitate meaningful volunteer engagement.

What we are looking for:

Experience – Minimum of five years of annual giving/fundraising experience. Desire to lead required. Proven track record implementing multi-channel direct response programs.

Computer Skills –Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Adaptability – Ability to work in a professional and positive manner with high attention to detail in a variety of situations.

Communication – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, must have ability to work as a member of the team and partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments.

Emotional Capabilities – Must be able to handle the emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of euthanasia.
