Founded in 1935, Fraser is Minnesota’s largest provider of early childhood mental health and the largest provider of autism services in the Upper Midwest. Fraser provides healthcare, housing, education, and employment services to clients with disabilities and many types of mental health diagnoses. Fraser is seeking a VP, Chief Development Officer with exceptional relationship building skills and the capacity to relate to and interact with people from all walks of life, to help us respond to the tremendous demand for our services in disability and mental healthcare. The ideal candidate must also share Fraser’s values; to respect the potential and dignity of all people, clients, and their families.

Expectations of the Role:

• Plan, direct, and assure success in Fraser’s fundraising goals, contributing individually to a comprehensive development department while managing staff and activities related to the analysis, planning, organization, execution, reporting and evaluation of all fundraising and volunteer activities.
• Serve as an articulate, enthusiastic, and visible external spokesperson for Fraser; passionately telling the organization’s/clients’ stories and organizational needs.
• Work under the direction of Fraser President and CEO and lead a high performing and compassionate team of development professionals.
• Collaborate with marketing and operations to build alignment in messaging and brand, upholding and promoting Fraser’s mission, vision, and outstanding reputation.
• Directly identify, cultivate, steward and actualize major prospect and gift donors at the highest levels (corporations, individuals and foundations) and effectively communicate with them.
• Ensure creation and maintenance of robust fund development processes and systems.
• Sustain consistent communication with key supporters of Fraser and develop new supporter relationships in order to support Fraser programs and services.
• Partner with the CEO to create, build and maintain a culture of philanthropy and involvement with Fraser’s Board of Directors and staff across the organization to build their skills and work with them to identify their networks.
• Plan, administer and maintain a detailed reporting process that measures and communicates performance outcomes for all areas of Development and Volunteerism.

Skills and Qualifications:

• BA/BS in development, business, sales, communications, and/or marketing or a related field. Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of fundraising experience, with proven track record of soliciting and securing major gifts.
• Experience with and proven ability in building positive and productive relationships with board members, volunteers, and internal staff.
• Strong professional written, negotiation, and verbal communication skills and extremely effective presence with ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings required.
• Advanced computer skills with Microsoft office, social media, web development, and database management preferred.
• Possess high-energy, integrity, and trustworthiness traits.
• Valid MN Driver’s License with acceptable record required.
• Ability to successfully complete MDHS criminal background check required.
