Our Strategic Marketing Specialists develop and implement marketing plans, programs and insights that drive results for our internal business partners. To be successful supporting this business partner, you need to have demonstrated success in increasing revenues for a non-profit organization or foundation, through peer-to-peer, corporate, direct response and major gift fundraising programs.

Qualifications

Position Accountabilities:

We are looking for expertise and leadership in the following key areas:

1. Fundraising/philanthropy marketing – experience generating revenue through peer-to-peer fundraising platforms, corporate partnerships, major giving and direct response marketing (individual donations generated through digital marketing and direct mail).

2. Strategic marketing planning – deep experience leading the development and execution of marketing plans and programs for mid- to large-size non-profit organizations.

3. Marketing insights – demonstrated success in using data to drive decisions about strategies and tactics, success in aligning marketing objectives with business objectives, and the ability to clearly articulate the ROI on marketing and fundraising expenses and investments.

4. Account management – a reputation for building trust and establishing productive relationships with internal and external clients as well as the willingness to be accountable for shared objectives.

5. Project management – ability to prioritize projects, manage requests from our business partners, and oversee the implementation of marketing plans and tactics to ensure that all efforts are fulfilled on time and within budget while meeting the expectations of our business partners.

The following are essential job accountabilities:

· Collaborates with Foundation leaders, Director of Marketing Insights and others to define target markets and segmentation, positioning and key messages.

· Develops broad and deep audience knowledge and uses these insights to guide strategy and decision making.

· Leads a cross-functional team of stakeholders including our client and channel marketing teams, to help inform the development and delivery of marketing plans and programs.

· Develops annual strategic marketing plan; ensures plan is aligned with BTM Foundation objectives and strategies.

· Creates, establishes and reports on marketing outcomes to measure our return on a wide-variety of marketing investments, occasionally working with our analysts and the Director of Marketing Insights.

· Coordinates with Senior Integrated Marketing Specialist assigned to Foundation to help manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring completed marketing tactics and materials are on time and within budget.

· Communicates proactively with Foundation stakeholders providing recommendations, plans, project status, issues, barriers, or solutions.

· Manages fiscal year budgeting, quarterly forecasting and responsible for meeting expense targets for assigned business units and initiatives.

· Manages agency relationships.

· Works with other SMSs to establish and implement an integrated marketing plan and timeline for development, launch, and promotions of all B2C initiatives.

· Functions as the fundraising marketing subject matter expert in a wide-array of activities including meetings, strategic planning, and agency engagements.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree required, marketing degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:
· 5-years demonstrated success in the development and execution of fundraising marketing strategies, plans and programs for a non-profit organization or foundation.

· Previous experience must include writing and implementing marketing plans that demonstrate fundraising results; experience in gathering/interpreting needs from stakeholders to develop a plan that produces measurable behavior change; and experience reaching and engaging audiences through an integrated approach that includes web, email, social media, print, tradeshow, in-person, direct mail, video, and PR.

Key Knowledge:
Knowledge of fundamental and advanced fundraising marketing principles, and effective communications and education strategies to increase engagement and action among a complex set of demographics.

Key Skills:
· Excellent written and oral communications skills.

· Demonstrated success in leading and influencing cross-functional teams to be strategic and results-oriented in a consensus-driven environment.

· Demonstrated skill in gathering input from subject matter experts to develop results-oriented marketing plans that can be cascaded to our channel, web, and marketing insights teams.

Other Requirements:
Approximately 5% travel.
