Bentz Whaley Flessner, a leading fundraising consulting firm for over 30 years, provides counsel for every step of the development process to educational institutions, medical centers, healthcare systems, arts, culture and other NGO organizations.


Responsibilities

As a Project Associate at BWF, you’ll use your experience in nonprofits and fundraising to help organizations across the country strengthen their development efforts and advance their mission. Working with BWF’s Healthcare Practice, you’ll partner with and learn from industry-leading consultants in helping clients discover solutions to their fundraising challenges.

This position provides a full range of administrative, research and project management support to the day-to-day workflow of the various consulting practices of Bentz Whaley Flessner. This position must function with limited supervision and requires considerable proactive coordination with consultant work demands. The ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and accountability for various processes and projects is crucial.

This position reports to the Healthcare Practice Leader and works collaboratively with clients, consultants, and support staff.

Duties of the position include:

•    Providing 30% administrative support and 70% research, and project management in an environment that requires maturity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
•    Coordinating project management and communicating project status with consultants and clients on a regular basis.
•    Contributing to the preparation of client deliverables, including presentations, reports, and correspondence.
•    Collaborating with the client and other project team members to create scope of work and project timeline documents outlining tasks and deliverables contained in client proposals.
•    Creating original content for weekly client advisories and other firm publications via research and development.
•    Supporting firm sales and marketing activities through the development of proposals, presentations, marketing materials, and blog maintenance.
•    Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; at least 3–5 years professional experience; strong creative, analytical, and interpersonal skills; initiative and follow-through; sound discretion and judgment; excellent written and oral communications; computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, survey software, database applications, and Internet research tools; well-developed organizational skills; flexibility; attention to detail; and the ability to work both independently and with a team toward a common goal. Familiarity of fundraising within the industries of healthcare, higher education, and in general, nonprofit organizations is strongly preferred.

Office and Hours

This full-time position will work out of the Minneapolis, MN, office. Standard business hours apply, with weekend and evening hours required when deadlines need to be met. Travel to client sites, conferences, or the firm’s other offices may occasionally be required.
