SUMMARY

The Institutional Giving Manager supports the mission and programs of Summit Academy OIC by serving as the relationship manager and lead writer on all proposals and reports to foundations, corporations and government entities. In addition, this role supports the Summit Academy OIC brand by developing content to ensure the continuity of external messages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assists the Chief Advancement Officer in developing and executing institutional funder development plan, goals, and timeline.
Manages relationships with institutional partners, including recognition, engagement, and responses to requests for information.
Writes, copyedits and compiles information for all grant proposals, reports and correspondence to current and potential institutional funders.
Prepares and submits reports as required under the terms of grant agreements, works with internal program staff to ensure accurate reporting of program metrics.
Identifies and cultivates new grant revenue and institutional funders.
Maintains grants and reporting calendar that tracks proposal submissions from pre-award throughout the grant cycle, including grants submitted, grants received, grants declined, status of active grants and when grants have completed their cycle.
Assists with the development of government grants, contracts and reporting.
Provides monthly budget and revenue forecasting updates to finance, and assists in the development of annual institutional fundraising goals.
Updates constituent database with relevant and timely information and maintains paper files.
Prepares prospect research and briefings, develops presentations and coordinates site visits for institutional funders.
Communicates and collaborates with members of the senior management team to obtain the necessary information to draft strong grant applications and external communications.
Supports continuity of external communications; creates and supports content development for all communications platforms (print and digital).
Support donor communication efforts, including appeal letters and other collateral materials.
Provides fundraising event support as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong communications skills: verbal, interpersonal and presentation. Superior writing and copy editing skills are required.
Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and project management ability.
Self-starter with strong initiative, excellent problem solving ability, perseverance and follow through, and ability to work with minimum supervision.
Flexible, team player, adapts quickly to rapidly changing priorities.
Expert level experience in Microsoft Office.
Experience working with complex donor databases (Abila experience preferred).
Knowledge of and dedication to Summit’s mission, values and students.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This is a largely sedentary role, and requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time. This role requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard and mouse.

POSITION TYPE AND HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). It is not eligible for overtime pay. Hours of work are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional nights and weekends may be required to meet the expectations of the position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree.
A minimum of 3 years related professional experience.
