Preparing for the Future: Fundraising in a Diverse Landscape and Fostering Inclusion

Diversity: we all know it’s important, but do we know what to do about it? How to measure it? How to grow it?

Diversity, inclusion and equity are increasingly important concepts for the nonprofit sector to consider as we strive to meet the needs of all of our constituents, now and in the future. Join us to discuss what fundraisers and organizations can do internally and externally to be prepared for more diverse donor bases, as well as how we can help our profession be more effective at fostering equity and inclusion in our communities. Speakers will be responding to questions asked by AFP Minnesota members earlier this year.

Paul WilliamsPaul Williams

President and CEO, Project Pride in Living

Paul Williams is deeply rooted in our community. Raised in the heart of Saint Paul, his strong connection to the Twin Cities region, its neighborhoods and its people, fuels his work.  Prior to joining Project Pride in Living (PPL) as its fourth executive director in April 2014, he managed all city operations as Deputy Mayor of his native city.

Paul has spent his career creating partnerships and building community. While spearheading community development locally and directing operations in 30 cities nationwide for Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), he developed an unparalleled understanding of the opportunities and challenges around affordable housing and community development. With compassion and a sense of what works, Paul has served as a grantmaker for The Minneapolis Foundation, The Saint Paul Foundation and the United Way of the St. Paul Area.
