The Donor Services Manager provides strategic expertise, as well as long-range and short-term planning, in the areas of database integrity, reporting, data analysis and prospect research. The Donor Services Manager is responsible for ongoing management and maintenance of the Raiser’s Edge database. This individual oversees the day-to-day operations of the database and assures high standards of quality, consistency, and accuracy.

The Donor Services Manager plays a crucial technical role in the Development Department’s daily operations, including gift entry and support of the annual fund, major gifts, alumnae relations, and special events. The person in this role is a master of Raiser’s Edge and an expert problem solver. He/She has the ability to train other department employees on RE, will proactively identify new prospects and qualify existing prospects while producing easy-to-read queries/reports, maintain database integrity, and provide data analysis. The candidate will conduct prospect research and then provide data to cultivate and solicit donors as part of Minnehaha Academy’s fundraising campaigns.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Develop and write detailed prospect profiles, and in working with the gift officers, help develop strategies
•    Analyze, interpret and synthesize biographical and financial information of new prospects and existing prospects; Provide information to development team
•    Use research skills to collect, evaluate, analyze, qualify, organize, package, and disseminate donor/prospect information in a way that maximizes its usefulness and enables accurate and educated decision-making in the development of fundraising strategies
•    Receive and enter all gifts into database; produce acknowledgment letters/tax receipts
•    Coordinate month end reconciliation with the Finance Department
•    Manage all aspects of Raiser’s Edge database including data accuracy, updates, and corrections
•    Design all queries, reports, lists needed by development officers in an easy-to-read manner
•    Create “dashboards” which graphically demonstrate revenue progress in real-time
•    Proactively engage in training and bring best practices and innovations regarding Minnehaha Academy’s donor database for the benefit of the team and to meet fundraising goals.

Qualifications:

•    2+ years experience with Raiser’s Edge database management, including Online Express, is required. Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT and in the oversight and management of Raiser’s Edge users is preferred.
•    Experience designing and implementing complex queries and reports for data analysis
•    Competency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
•    Proven ability to effectively manage a comprehensive donor record program
•    Understanding of philanthropic giving guidelines and non-profit fund accounting procedures
•    High attention to detail and accuracy with ability to carefully proof and edit materials
•    Ability to relate well and communicate effectively with constituencies, through written, telephonic and personal communication vehicles
•    Ability to work independently and actively participate within a team
•    Flexibility to adapt to changing deadlines, priorities and new tasks as assigned
