Gundersen Health System has a great opportunity for an individual looking to lead a dynamic and passionate Development team while making a difference in the lives of our patients and community. This Gundersen Health System Director level position will lead the philanthropic arm of the Gundersen Medical Foundation administratively while also managing a key constituency of major gift donors and prospects.

The incumbent will have a direct line of communication with the Chairman of the Gundersen Medical Foundation Board and will interact with select members of Gundersen Health System’s Senior Leadership Team in coordinating fund raising initiatives with health system strategies.

The Director will be responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing a comprehensive fund raising program and will have six direct reports including; Major Gifts, Annual Support, Special Events, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, Development Operations and Development Marketing.

The incumbent will be a visionary leader who fosters a culture of philanthropy and volunteerism and will be highly engaged in the community.

The job functions will include setting and monitoring annual fund raising goals; establishing metrics and monitoring results of the Development leadership team; cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of major gift prospects; serve as liaison to the Board’s Development Committee; and represents the philanthropic arm of Gundersen Medical Foundation Development at key GHS and La Crosse community events.

Education and Learning:
Required
Master’s degree in a related field

Work Experience:
Required
8-10 years of progressive Development experience including supervision of fund raising teams, major gift solicitations, planned giving, annual fund appeals, special events and Foundation operational experience such as data base management (Raiser’s Edge), budget management and advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office). Capital campaign and Children’s Miracle Network Hospital® experience are advantageous.
