Under general supervision of the Senior Director of Development Operations, manages operations aspects of the Development department; works closely with Accounting and Development to ensure timely and accurate reporting, oversees gift entry/Development Associate staff; and ensures that the database is organized and maintained in a way that allows for the most effective identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of all levels of donors. Development staff are advocates in implementing our mission of “Affirming the human right to reproductive health and freedom.” Perform other related duties as assigned.


Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•    Manage database to ensure accuracy, integrity and accessibility of information.
•    Supervise and manage gift processing/acknowledgement and data entry staff.
•    Analyze and report on development efforts, including fundraising progress reports for staff, board and PPFA.
•    Reconcile cash, pledges, and total production numbers with accounting department on a monthly basis.
•    Ensure effective communication with accounting department regarding deposits, pledges, and designations. Oversee daily cash reconciliation and deposit.
•    Prepare financial and donor reports (annual Audit, Affiliate Financial Report and IRS Form 990, as well as other reports needed by the Accounting Department).
•    Prepare donor reports annually for the donor recognition wall and annual report donor listing.
•    Pull and prepare lists for donor communications to be conducted via email, mail, social media and phone.
•    Interface with software vendor and PPMNS IT staff regarding software capacity, performance, and upgrades. Define and oversee database maintenance projects.
•    Provide database training to new development staff and respond to current staff requests for training and assistance.
•    Oversee Raiser’s Edge policies and procedure manual as well as establish and monitor procedures and quality control measures for gift processing and acknowledgements.
•    Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external constituents – particularly donors – and respond to in-person, telephone, email and mail requests and inquiries with accurate and appropriate information about Planned Parenthood and its programs. Provide information and assistance to donors making gifts that require special arrangements, such as stocks, memorial gifts, or those restricted to specific funds.
•    Assist in the planning, implementation and management of other special projects as requested.

Work Hours: 40 hours/week. This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, flex accounts, long-term disability, life insurance, PTO, extended illness leave, volunteer time off, paid holidays, and 403(b) retirement plan.

Required Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
•    Extensive knowledge of Raiser’s Edge (3-plus years of experience)
•    Extensive knowledge of Crystal Reports (2-plus years experience)
•    3-5 years experience working in a fundraising department, with a general understanding of development and fundraising programs

Preferred Qualifications
•    Employee management experience
•    Experience with Raisers Edge NXT
•    Experience with ImportOmatic
