Primary Responsibilities of the Development Associate:

The Development Associate is responsible for supporting fundraising activities that support the mission of Banyan Community. This role organizes and implements administrative systems to ensure an effective and efficient development effort including database management and integrity, donor correspondence, and marketing/special event support as needed.

Basic Components of Position:

Donor Database Management
•    Maintains and manages donor database (eTapestry)
o    record, process, and acknowledge gifts following IRS guidelines
•    Database analysis to grow, retain donors, and improve data integrity
•    Assist with mailing lists and report development from database

Donor Relations
•    Respond to donor inquiries
•    Attend fundraisers and provide support as needed
•    Assist with donor communication – newsletter, annual report, website, social media, etc.
•    Donor prospecting
•    Grant management support

Administrative support as needed

Position Qualifications:

Experience: Bachelor’s Degree plus 1-3 years of experience working with databases (preferably eTapestry, not required)

Skills: Knowledge of databases and analysis, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and excellent communication skills (oral and written). Strategic and analytical thinking skills a must. Ability to effectively represent Banyan Community mission and values to constituents. Entrepreneurial, results and achievement oriented. Understanding of non-profit development practices and the importance of handling confidential information.

Compensation:  Based on Qualifications

This is a non-exempt position without benefits. This position is anticipated to work between 20-30 hours per week.
