Think Small, Minnesota’s leader in early learning, is dedicated to advancing early childhood care and education. This position will coordinate and implement annual giving activities including appeals, acknowledgements, reports, and other communications to donors and will assist in donor relations related to the identification, stewardship, and cultivation of individual donors. This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate donor files and gift records for Think Small and will provide administrative support to the Chief Advancement Officer and to the Development Department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinate and implement annual giving activities including direct mail solicitations, internal and on-line appeals, and other scheduled donor communication including an annual report to donors
• Work in partnership with Marketing to coordinate the logistics of special donor acquisition, cultivation and stewardship events and all external donor-centered materials and communications
• Support the coordination and logistics for agency related fundraising events
• Provide appropriate and timely gift acknowledgement and recognition of donors
• Enter, process and document contributions according to agency guidelines
• Maintain donor database (Raiser’s Edge), ensuring accuracy of records, reports and mailing lists
• Enable enhanced donor relations utilizing donor segmentation and strategies to provide timely, relevant and tailored communications to donors
• Maintain and update financial and fundraising reports
• Perform prospect research to identify potential new sources of funding
• Respond to or refer donor inquiries as appropriate
• Maintain department’s electronic and paper files and perform other administrative support duties
• Provide administrative and scheduling support to the Chief Advancement Officer and other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• 2-3 years’ experience in fundraising and development
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge required, certification preferred
• Strong writing skills
• Strong verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to present information to donors concisely and effectively both verbally and in writing
• Occasional evening hours to support agency events
• Proficiency with MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher)
• Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle and proof of insurance is required for metro area travel

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Think Small offers a minimum starting wage of $16.00/hr and a unique benefit package with 18 benefits including a 401k with employer match and generous time off. Our 100+ employee company offers a family-friendly professional work environment. This position will work out of our award-winning building located at 10 Yorkton Court in Little Canada near Highways 35E and 694. We also have a Minneapolis office located at 2021 East Hennepin Avenue.
