Primary Function: The Annual Giving Strategist leads the annual giving and events teams with a responsibility for ensuring ongoing growth of annual/operating support for Animal Humane Society.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Lead, strategize, and execute annual giving and events plans with a goal of acquiring, retaining, and upgrading annual giving and events donors and attendees.
• Manage Annual Giving team to develop, direct, and oversee execution of integrated multi-channel fundraising and stewardship campaigns.
• Lead the Events team in the planning, strategy, and execution of small and large events including our three major fundraising events: Wine Dinner, Whisker Whirl, and Walk for Animals. Continuously evaluate events’ effectiveness and refine strategy for the future.
• Oversee the development and implementation of stewardship plans for donors giving between $1 and $9,999, with specific strategies aimed at increasing lifetime value of a donor and donor loyalty.
• Support and take the lead on cross-functional collaboration with Brand and Philanthropy to ensure the success of solicitation, stewardship, and events communications and strategies.
• In collaboration with the Advancement Operations Strategist, take the lead on data analysis and segmentation strategies for the Philanthropy team with the goal of increasing unrestricted revenue and donor and event attendee engagement.
• Analyze, monitor, and report out on metrics, data, results, and expenses with a goal of ensuring smart use of resources and growth in unrestricted giving and events performance.
• Oversee the writing and editing of communications for multiple channels including email, direct mail, social media, events communications, and phone.
• Oversee creation and execution of engagement opportunities for donors.
• Collaborate with Philanthropy Advisor team to advance donors through the donor continuum to higher giving levels.
• Oversee the research, selection, and management of vendors for products and services required for annual giving and events and manage vendor relationships.
• Work with a high degree of independence to meet and exceed annual goals on time and on budget.
• Foster a creative and productive work environment.
• Act as an ambassador of the Animal Humane Society both internally and externally. Is knowledgeable of all aspects of AHS in order to provide needed information to supporters, donors, clients, and the community.

Work Environment
• Mainly office/desk-based work.
• Adjacent animal shelter areas may be humid, noisy, or odorous.

Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum five years of development/fundraising experience.
• Proven track record implementing multi-channel direct response programs.
• Experience managing budgets and proven track record of spending within budget.
• Experience managing fundraising events.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including use of the computer as a management tool; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred.
• Persuasive and strategic communicator with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in working independently and as part of a team.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, goal-focused.
• Committed to and enthusiastic about the mission, programs and services of the Animal Humane Society.
• Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of euthanasia.
