Primary Purpose:
As an integral part of the Annual Giving team, the Annual Giving Producer actively seeks ways to retain, steward, and upgrade donors. The Annual Giving Producer, working closely with the Annual Giving Strategist, develops strategies and tactics for the Sustainer, mid-level, and leadership giving programs, and plans, conducts, and analyzes integrated multi-channel campaigns with a focus on Sustainers and donors giving $500+ annually. The Annual Giving Producer also leads the stewardship of donors, planning and executing acknowledgements, engagement communications, and stewardship events. In collaboration with the Advancement department, the Annual Giving Producer will actively participate in a team environment where ideas for deepening the engagement of donors and constituents, continual process improvement, and a strategic focus on data-driven results is encouraged and celebrated.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement multi-year stewardship plans for donors giving between $1 and $9,999, with specific strategies aimed at increasing lifetime value of donor.
• Execute a high-quality donor experience for new donors, including managing print welcome series to new donors and new Sustainers.
• Plan and implement cultivation and stewardship opportunities and events for Annual Giving and Philanthropy team.
• Working with the Annual Giving Strategist, develop and execute fundraising strategies to move mid-level donors through the donor continuum to higher giving levels.
• Work collaboratively with the Philanthropy Advisors to identify major gift donor prospects among the mid-level donors and help steward donors who have reached their maximum giving potential.
• In concert with the Annual Giving Strategist, manage the execution and growth of Sustainer program, developing and implementing strategies to acquire new Sustaining donors, increase retention, upgrades, loyalty, and revenue growth.
• Manage Sustainer Stop-Loss efforts, including reporting, print and email communications to donors, and updates to donor records.
• Develop and administer project timelines and coordinate with colleagues on the Advancement team, as well as other departments within the organization, to successfully carry out Annual Giving stewardship and Sustainer strategies.
• Along with the Annual Giving team, draft and edit solicitation appeals and general donor communications, and other writing assignments as assigned.
• Research and implement innovations in fundraising, engagement, and stewardship techniques and strategy.
• Act as project manager with outside vendors for products and services required for donor stewardship and relations; coordinate with colleagues within and outside the Philanthropy department as needed.
• Oversee and supervise the use of volunteers to support Annual Giving activities.
• Champion a high-quality donor experience in all donor communications, engagement opportunities, and events.
• Work with a high degree of independence to meet and exceed annual goals on time and on budget.
• Foster a creative and productive work environment.
• Act as an ambassador of the Animal Humane Society both internally and externally. Is knowledgeable of all aspects of AHS in order to provide needed information to supporters, donors, clients, and the community.

Work Environment:
• Primarily office/desk-based
• Adjacent animal shelter areas may be humid, noisy, or odorous

Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 3-5 years of development experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience working directly with donors and volunteers preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including use of the computer as a management tool;
• Persuasive and strategic communicator with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of and experience with Blackbaud products including: Raiser’s Edge, Luminate/Convio, and TeamRaiser preferred.
• Demonstrated success in working independently and as part of a team.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, data-driven, and goal-focused.
• Able to adapt and succeed in a fast-paced work environment, handle fluctuating priorities and multiple projects, and meet deadlines under pressure. Strong organizational skills essential.
• Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of euthanasia.
