Now accepting nominations for the 2017 National Philanthropy Day Awards!
Award recipients will be recognized at the Minnesota Chapter’s National Philanthropy Day celebration, November 17, 2017.
The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Minnesota Chapter sponsors an annual awards program to recognize outstanding achievements by individual, foundation and corporate philanthropists, fundraising volunteers, and professional fundraising executives.
The vision of your AFP Minnesota Chapter is to create and foster extraordinary fundraising professionals for an extraordinary philanthropic community. Therefore the Minnesota AFP Chapter honors those who hold high ethical standards and best exemplify commitment, dedication, and talent toward helping society. These awards are given in recognition to those individuals and organizations whose life-time or long-term achievements have made a significant impact on our state.
Nominations are invited for the following awards:
Outstanding Professional Fundraiser to individuals who practice his/her profession in an exemplary manner and are an inspiration to others.
Outstanding Philanthropic Organization to businesses, corporations, foundations and/or organizations who have demonstrated outstanding philanthropic commitment.
Outstanding Youth Award to individuals or groups who have shown outstanding philanthropic effort within their community.
Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership as a volunteer for a major fundraising project for more than one nonprofit organization.
Outstanding Individual Philanthropist to individuals or families who have demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable responsibility and generosity.
Outstanding Legacy Award posthumously awarded to individuals or families as recognition of their generosity and volunteer support.
How to Submit a Nomination
Please review the Award Nomination Packet for a brief description of each award, followed by several questions, and guidelines to assist you in completing your nomination. Any community member may nominate someone for an award. An independent volunteer committee composed of members of Minnesota’s nonprofit and philanthropy community reviews all applications.
If the application you submit is selected, your award winner will be honored at National Philanthropy Day with a professionally crafted short tribute video and will be asked to receive the award in person and share some brief acceptance remarks with the audience.
All nominations must be received by no later than May 19.
