Job Description

Title: Advancement Events Manager
Reports to: Alumni Relations Director
Start Date:     August 2017
FLSA Status:     Exempt
Hours: 8 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday. Position requires some evening and weekend hours.

Summary
This position holds primary responsibility to plan, organize, manage, and implement fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events for the advancement department. Special events include an annual gala, Grandparents Day, and Homecoming events, as well as other cultivation, special campaign, and stewardship events and celebrations throughout the year.

Essential Duties
•    Work with Alumni Relations Director to ensure clarity of event goals and success measures
•    Collaborate with advancement team, staff, and Breck community volunteers to ensure event success
•    Work closely with gala committee and Grandparents Day committee to coordinate meetings
•    Research venues, décor, caterers, etc. to find the best fit to ensure event value and success
•    Manage event vendor relationships with caterers, décor, venue, print, etc
•    Organization event planning and details
•    Coordinate event promotion via print, email, and social media
•    Manage event budgets
•    Evaluate events to ensure effectiveness and recommend and/or implement changes as needed
•    Actively participate in all event committee meetings, as appropriate

Education/Experience/Skills
•    Bachelor’s Degree required
•    Five years of experience successfully coordinating fundraising events and effectively managing event relationships.
•    Strong attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills
•    A passion for events and creating a high quality guest experience
•    Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast paced, complex, team-oriented department
•    High-energy self-starter with the proactive ability to manage, prioritize, and complete multiple projects
•    Experience with database systems required, Raiser’s Edge preferred
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office
•    Ability to communicate effectively, and display tact and good judgement
•    Confidential, discreet, trustworthy
